Job summary

Hallmark Cards in Leavenworth, KS is seeking a Materials Movement Specialist to support the warehouse and production flow. You will operate forklifts and related equipment to move stock, load and unload trailers, and handle recyclable materials with balers, while maintaining accurate documentation.

The role requires forklift certification, physical stamina to lift up to 50 lbs, and the ability to work on 2nd shift (3:30pm–12:00am). Relocation not provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Able to frequently move materials weighing 35 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds from the floor.
• Able to stand and walk approximately 95% of the time.
• Able to push, pull, twist, bend, and reach above shoulder level.
• Ability to obtain forklift certification.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Current forklift certification or certification held within the past 12 months.
• Good math, written, and oral communication skills.
• Ability to understand and operate computer and ordering systems.
• Ability to work as a member of a team and perform under pressure to meet deadlines and changing needs.
• Ability to reorganize and change directions as necessary.
• Understanding and adherence to established safety procedures for PPE and hazardous chemicals.
• Strong planning and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated ability to learn and retain knowledge.
• Commitment to good customer service.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts and power equipment, including sit-down/stand-up models and clamps.
• Load/unload trailers and move pallets on/off conveyors.
• Locate stock and fill manufacturing orders with powered equipment.
• Bale recyclable materials using balers and transport hazardous waste per regulations.
• Complete stock movement documentation accurately.
• Coordinate with recycling and contractors for pickup/delivery.
• Perform preventive and scheduled maintenance on balers and power equipment.
• Be flexible to move to different tasks and learn additional duties.
• Participate in performance dialogues and team problem solving.
• Communicate with vendors and other departments effectively.
• Maintain safety practices at all times.
