Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope in Houston, TX is seeking a Material Handler for the 2nd Shift in the Shipping Department. The role focuses on moving, loading, and unloading glass and metal products throughout the plant to keep the production line moving safely and efficiently.

Candidates should be reliable team players with forklift and overhead crane familiarity, able to read work orders, perform basic measurements, and maintain a clean, safe work area while meeting quality standards.

Qualifications

• Experience reading work orders and following safety and quality standards.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical measurements and calculations.
• Dependable with regular attendance and ability to work independently.
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Move glass and metal products safely from tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates.
• Operate forklift and overhead crane to move materials as required.
• Transport and rotate materials through laminating process stages, manually or with equipment.
• Read work orders and follow strict job standards for safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Inspect product quality for visual flaws and ensure materials meet specifications.
• Use a tape measure to read and interpret basic measurements.
• Attach appropriate labels and paperwork to products and packages.
• Maintain a clean work area and notify supervisor of issues.
