Job summary

QPS Employment Group is seeking a Material Handler for a Saint Charles, MO location on the 2nd shift (2:30pm-11:00pm, Mon-Fri). The role involves loading/unloading, receiving, inspecting, labeling, and inventory control using barcode scanners and a forklift.

Candidates should have factory experience and be able to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include keeping safety at the forefront, maintaining 5S in the plant, and assisting with production material

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in manufacturing, shipping, or receiving.
• Able to use barcode scanners, computers, and other electronic devices.
• Must pass forklift certification exam and maintain certification.
• Detail oriented with excellent communication and safety awareness.

Responsibilities

• Loads and unloads trucks.
• Receives, verifies, and inventories shipments; ensures quality and correct quantities.
• Prints labels, prints drawings and purchase orders as needed.
• Operates forklift to move, stack, load, or unload materials per SOPs.
• Ensures receiving inspections are completed and properly labeled.
• Assists with inventory and storage preparation; follows 5S practices.

Position Title: Material HandlerWage: $20.99 per hourShift: 2ndHours: 2:30pm-11:00pm (Mon-Fri)QPS Employment Group has a great Material Handler position available at a company in Saint Charles, MO. This is a 2nd shift position with the opportunity for hire.Material Handler Responsibilities include but are not limited to:- Loads and unloads trucks.- Accurately receives, verifies, and inventories incoming shipments of merchandise and other raw materials ensuring items are high quality, the correct quantity and labeled according to standards.- Completes required paperwork for receipt of merchandise timely and accurately.- Understands process for when product delivered does not meet quality, quantity, and packaging standards.- Prints labels, drawings, and purchase orders.- Operates forklift as needed to move, stack, load, or unload materials in and about the plant safety and according to standard operating procedures.- Ensures scanning accuracy in all aspects of receiving and material handling.- Ensures receiving inspections are being completed and labeled appropriately.- Assists with inventory of merchandise and raw materials.- Assists in tagging and storage preparation of products.- Precisely pulls material for production utilizing related reports and priority lists.- Understands the acceptable level of material storage and maintains areas at level of 5S in conjunction with the rest of the plant.- Verifies and refers to Bill of Materials (BOM).- Operates yard dog properly and safely when needed.- Trains others on receiving processes and procedures.- Resolves complex problems and trains others how to work through daily challenges.- Maintains a high level of productivity with little supervision.- Performs tasks safely including wearing safety glasses and gloves as described in JHA requirements.- Performs other duties as assigned.Material Handler Requirements:- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, such as inventory documents.- 1+ years’ experience within manufacturing, shipping, and/or receiving is preferred.- Must be able to use bar code readers, computers, and other electronic devices.- Must pass forklift certification exam, complete daily check list, and maintain certification.- Should maintain impeccable safety record while handling storage and retrieval of items.- Must be detail oriented.- Needs to have excellent communication skills.- Shows initiative and the ability to begin and follow job through to completion with little supervision.- Balances, stoops, kneels, crouches, and reaches to work overhead.- Walks or stands for a minimum of 8 hours with limited breaks.- Pushes and pulls materials, fingers and grasps parts and components.- Exerts up to fifty pounds of force frequently.- Pays close visual acuity to perform inspections and operate machines.- Tolerates extremes in weather and machine temperature.- Tolerates loud noise.- Extensive use with power/hand tools.- Extensive use with fork truck.- Requires visual acuity to access details (I.e., prints, parts, work orders, etc.)- Requires communication skills so ideas and instructions can be given clearly and/or quickly and understood.- Requires the ability to distinguish between speech, machinery, and other sounds to understand instructions and/or directions.IND124About us:QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
