Job summary

Universal Logistics is seeking a materials coordinator in Arlington, TX to support GM production lines. You will monitor inbound and outbound material flow and act as the on-site liaison between Universal Logistics and GM.

The ideal candidate has 2–4 years in logistics or automotive supply chain, an associate or bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or related field, and proficiency with MS Office and ERP/MRP systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate degree in a related field required.
• 2–4 years of logistics or automotive supply chain experience.
• Experience with MS Office and ERP/MRP systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as the on-site liaison between Universal Logistics and GM production teams.
• Monitor inbound and outbound material flow to ensure on-time delivery.
• Track inventory levels and reconcile shortages or overages.
• Coordinate with GM schedulers and Universal dispatch to align activities.
• Facilitate communication regarding expedited shipments or supply chain disruptions.
• Support problem-solving for shortages, damaged goods, or late deliveries.
• Maintain accurate records and prepare daily/weekly material status reports.
• Ensure compliance with GM and Universal policies and safety standards.
• Participate in production and logistics meetings and provide updates.
• Build strong relationships with GM contacts and third-party providers.
