Job summary

Logistics Insight Corporation (LINC) in Lake Orion, MI, a subsidiary of Universal Logistics Holdings, is seeking a logistics coordinator to support GM production with inventory control, sequencing, and material flow operations.

This role on the 2nd shift (2:00 PM–10:00 PM) focuses on liaison between Universal Logistics and GM teams, tracking inventory, resolving shortages, and ensuring on-time deliveries in a fast-paced automotive environment.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in supply chain or related field.
• 2–4 years in logistics, material coordination, inventory control, or automotive supply chain.
• Knowledge of automotive manufacturing and JIT concepts.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP, MRP, WMS, or inventory systems.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment.
• Strong sense of urgency and customer service commitment.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary liaison between Universal Logistics and GM production teams.
• Monitor material flow to ensure on-time delivery and correct quantity.
• Track inventory levels and investigate shortages.
• Coordinate with production, scheduling, operations, and supply chain teams.
• Communicate material concerns and production risks to stakeholders.
• Support root cause analysis for inventory and delivery issues.
• Prepare inventory reports and material tracking documentation.
• Assist with inventory audits and cycle counts.
• Ensure compliance with customer requirements and safety procedures.
• Participate in daily production and logistics meetings with updates.
• Build strong working relationships with GM personnel and vendors.
