Job summary

Oerlikon is seeking a Technician I for the Elgin facility (2nd shift: 2:00 PM–10:30 PM). You will handle, transport, and load material, operate production equipment, inspect and package products, and track production and downtime data.

The role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and adherence to safety and quality standards. Oerlikon offers day-one benefits, a robust program, and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED or equivalent experience.
• Able to do prolonged standing 9+ hours or more.
• Strong attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer skills to include basic understanding of Microsoft Office, Excel spreadsheets and Access database.

Responsibilities

• Performs production operations to support the manufacturing process.
• Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
• Communicate clearly with co-workers and supervisors.
• Must be able to work as part of a team.
• Must conform to current health, environmental, and safety standards.
• Must be able to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions and ask questions if necessary to prevent misunderstanding.
