Job summary

Oerlikon is hiring a Technician I for the Elgin, IL facility on the 2nd shift (3pm-11:30pm). You will operate mechanical production equipment, handle material, inspect and pack product, record production data and downtime, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Adherence to HSE and quality standards, and teamwork are essential.

The job requires a high school diploma or GED, strong attention to detail, and basic computer skills. Overtime may be required; company benefits start on day one.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Able to stand for 9+ hours and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Manufacturing experience is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and good verbal/written communication.
• Basic computer skills including MS Office, Excel and Access.

Responsibilities

• Performs production operations to support the manufacturing process.
• Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the supervisor.
• Maintains clean and safe work area and adheres to safety regulations.
• Communicates clearly with co-workers and supervisors.
• Works effectively as part of a team.
• Follows health, environmental, and safety standards.
• Understands and carries out oral and written instructions.
