Job summary

Oerlikon is seeking a Technician I (1st shift 7:00am – 3:30pm) in Elgin, IL. You will handle, transport, and load material, operate mechanical production equipment, inspect and pack product, and log downtime information. This role requires adherence to HSE and Quality standards and teamwork to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Able to stand 9+ hours daily.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic Microsoft Office, Excel, and Access familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Operate production equipment and support manufacturing processes.
• Inspect, pack, and log finished products.
• Track downtime and report issues to supervision.
• Maintain clean and safe work area per HSE standards.
• Collaborate with team to meet production goals.
