Job summary

Oerlikon in Mequon, WI is seeking a Technician I for the 2nd shift (4:00pm - 2:30am). You will handle, transport, and load material, operate production equipment, inspect and pack product, track production, and log downtime.

The role requires following safety and quality standards and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Eligibility includes high school diploma or GED, 9+ hours of standing, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED or equivalent experience.
• Able to do prolong standing 9+ hours or more.
• Good dexterity, attention to fine details, and depth perception to enable detail hand coordination.
• Manufacturing experience would be advantageous.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer skills to include basic understanding of Microsoft Office, Excel spreadsheets and Access database to complete end of day reports.
• Will be required to work overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Performs production operations to support the manufacturing process.
• Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
• Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
• Communicates clearly with co-workers and supervisors.
• Must be able to work as part of a team.
• Must conform to current health, environmental, and safety standards.
• Must be able to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions and ask questions if necessary to prevent misunderstanding.
