Job summary

RTX is seeking a highly skilled Operations supervisor to lead the Compressions Systems Module Center (CSMC) on 2nd shift, driving safety, quality and cost-reduction initiatives. You will manage project work, coordinate with support groups, and ensure efficient scheduling to meet customer requirements.

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree and 5+ years of experience in Military, Manufacturing, Business Operations Management, Engineering, Aerospace or Aftermarket industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of relevant industry experience; OR Associate’s degree and 10+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • High School diploma or Military / Technical Training and 12+ years of relevant industry experience

  • Provide guidance and direction to skilled bargaining unit employees within assigned cell area.
  • Lead employee engagement and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Lead sustained improvements in safety, quality, production, material procurement, and cost reduction.

  • Establish work schedules taking into account customer requirements, resource availability and other priorities.

What You Will Do

Compressions Systems Module Center (CSMC) is seeking a highly motivated, technically talented individual, who has a true desire to lead and coach in a dynamic operations environment to support our Special Process / Shared Services business units. You will lead sustained improvements in safety, quality, production, material procurement, and cost reduction. In conjunction to daily supervisor responsibilities, project management, effective communication and execution with support group members is critical to the department’s success. This role reports to the Operations Manager (Business Unit Leader) and will be supporting 2nd shift operations. Typical working hours are 2:30 PM – 12:AM, Monday – Friday. Training is available and may be required on our 1st shift for up to 3 months.

Qualifications We Prefer
  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)Personnel management experience, particularly within a bargaining unit / union workforce environment.
  • Proven ability to lead mentoring, coaching, developing talent and motivate teams to achieve business goals.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical data, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
  • Organizational and project management skills, PMP certification preferred.
  • Aftermarket Aerospace and Overhaul and Repair (MRO) industry experience.
  • Working knowledge of shop practices, quality standards, processes and procedures.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement tools (CORE/ACE/SixSigma, QCPC and RCCA).
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, SAP, MRP materials management, and MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to work and effectively communicate with all levels of management, shop personnel and customers

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
