Job summary

Family Dollar in Rome, NY is seeking a maintenance technician for its Distribution Center. The role performs preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and troubleshooting of conveyors, electrical/control systems, and MHE. The shift runs Monday–Thursday from 4:00 pm to 2:30 am.

Pay is $26.80 per hour plus a $0.75 shift differential, with full benefits for full-time associates. The ideal candidate has electronics tech coursework or certification and 2+ years in industrial maintenance, PLC/PC

Qualifications

Coursework or certification in electronic technology and 2 years industrial maintenance experience specializing in electronic technology
PLC/PC program knowledge and troubleshooting experience
Industrial electrical hands-on troubleshooting, including 480V 3-phase, 110 VAC, and 24 VDC
Advanced troubleshooting skills with PCs and industrial controls devices/networking
Clear communication of technical issues to business leadership
Shift work; overtime, weekends and holidays
Customer service oriented

Responsibilities

Follow safety procedures to maximize personal safety and safety of DC associates.
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment (lift trucks, pneumatic systems, MHE, hydraulics, dock equipment, electrical systems).
Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical/electronic problems with PLCs, servo drives, I/O devices.
Diagnose electrical problems using drawings and diagnostic tools (multimeter, laptop).
Assist other maintenance technicians in repair and maintenance tasks.
Initiate and implement new procedures to keep equipment at peak efficiency.
Develop knowledge base of different systems within the Distribution Center.
Maintain an organized work area and promote a safe working environment.
Communicate with customers, suppliers, and associates to minimize downtime.
Complete work orders, logs, and documents as required.
Operate material handling equipment and other powered equipment.
Ensure workmanship is of highest quality.
