Job summary

Family Dollar in Rome, NY is seeking a maintenance technician to operate the battery room and perform preventive maintenance on distribution center equipment. The shift runs Monday through Thursday from 4pm to 2:30am, with pay starting at $20.05 per hour.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairs, documentation, and supporting skilled maintenance staff. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with trade school preferred, and weeknights/overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent; trade school preferred.
• 1 year of experience repairing/maintaining mechanical or electrical equipment OR two years vocational training.
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Ability to read maintenance manuals and electrical blueprints.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Follows safety procedures to maximize personal and DC safety.
• Performs preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment.
• Troubleshoots basic problems with visible/obvious issues.
• Assists other maintenance technicians with repairs.
• Keeps work area organized and maintains a safe environment.
• Completes work orders and logs per procedures.
• Operates battery equipment and material handling machinery.
