Job description

Job Purpose

Perform routine maintenance to ensure that equipment runs smoothly and repairs are completed on time.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Perform non-repetitive electrical, electronic, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic maintenance functions to maintain all plant equipment in proper operating condition.
  2. Work from maintenance schedules and work orders assigned by the maintenance supervisor or team leader.
  3. Follow detailed blueprints and schematics to diagnose problems affecting machine operation, using test equipment and shop tools.
  4. Perform welding operations as necessary.
  5. Repair solid state electronic control systems.
  6. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
  7. Troubleshoot machinery and equipment issues related to mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems.
  8. Repair plant support equipment such as hoists, sweepers, forklifts, etc.
  9. Maintain hand tools and other repair equipment.
  10. Implement equipment modifications as directed by support groups and supervisors.
  11. Repair and maintain the facility's utility systems.
  12. Assist in installing new or relocated equipment within the plant.
  13. Operate forklifts as required after successful completion of training.
  14. Detect and report faulty operation, defective materials, or unusual conditions to supervisors.
  15. Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment.
  16. Follow safety regulations and standards of operation and conduct.
  17. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or team leaders.
  18. Be a self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision.
  19. Possess a background in continuous improvement (Kaizen) is a plus.
  20. Log job details and labor hours in the plant's computerized maintenance management system.
Hazards

This role involves exposure to various hazards, including high heat, noise requiring hearing protection, moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, work at heights, chemicals, fumes, odors, dust, mists, oils, and fluids. Respirator use may be required.
