Job summary

Clariant is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and production equipment across multiple departments at our NM plant. The role focuses on planned maintenance, major overhauls, capital projects, and continuous improvements to enhance reliability and uptime.

You will mentor other technicians, collaborate with engineering and production teams on equipment upgrades and process improvements, and ensure safety and permit compliance

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years of maintenance experience.
• Basic computer skills.
• Preferred: Welding, PLC programming, machining, electrical work or related technical field.

Responsibilities

• Lead annual and planned maintenance activities across multiple departments (I-Room, Dryer, Warehouse, Quality, ABQ).
• Plan, coordinate, and execute major overhauls, shutdowns, and capital maintenance projects.
• Manage spare parts inventory in SAP, issue parts, create/close work notifications and orders.
• Perform Level I and II maintenance tasks and train others.
• Support continuous improvement to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
• Lead or support RCA investigations and present recommendations.
• Follow permit procedures (LOTO/LOTOTO, hot work, etc.).
• Mentor Level I technicians on maintenance procedures and safety.
• Weld, fabricate parts, read blueprints, and perform related maintenance.
• Inspect and maintain air lines, valves, cylinders, and air preparation units.
