Job summary

Express Employment Professionals is seeking a 2nd Shift Maintenance Tech to support reliability across mixing, pumping, filling and packaging systems. You will troubleshoot, perform PMs, and document work to keep operations running smoothly.

The ideal candidate has basic mechanical aptitude, experience with tools, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with emphasis on safety and teamwork.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair production equipment (mixers, pumps, conveyors, fillers, packaging).
• Perform routine maintenance on motors, gearboxes, belts, chains, seals, valves, bearings.
• Assist in electrical troubleshooting (sensors, limit switches, motor starters, VFDs) as trained.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and help restore operations quickly and safely.
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance tasks (lubrication, inspections, adjustments, part replacements).
• Follow PM schedules and identify early signs of wear or failure.
• Adhere to safety procedures including LOTO and PPE usage.
• Document maintenance work in logs or CMMS; communicate issues to teams.

2nd Shift Maintenance Tech

2:30pm to 1:00am, Monday to Thursday + OT as needed on Friday

This role focuses on ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and maintaining safe and efficient operations across mixing, pumping, filling, and packaging systems. This position is ideal for individuals with basic mechanical aptitude who are looking to grow into a skilled industrial maintenance role.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with troubleshooting and repairing production equipment, including mixers, pumps (centrifugal, diaphragm, rotor-stator), conveyors, fillers, and packaging machinery
• Perform routine maintenance on motors, gearboxes, belts, chains, seals, valves, and bearings
• Support basic electrical troubleshooting (e.g., sensors, limit switches, motor starters, VFDs — as trained)
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and assist in restoring operations quickly and safely
• Complete scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, including lubrication, inspections, adjustments, and part replacements
• Follow preventive maintenance (PM) schedules and identify early signs of wear or equipment failure
• Adhere to all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE usage, and OSHA guidelines
• Accurately document maintenance work using logs or CMMS systems
• Communicate equipment issues clearly with supervisors and production teams
