Job summary

Pilgrim’s Pride Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for the 2nd shift in Harrisonburg, VA. The role runs 3:00PM–2:00AM at the Harrisonburg Feedmill, with a base hourly pay and a shift differential.

Essential duties include maintaining and testing mechanical equipment, interpreting drawings, and performing preventive maintenance. High school diploma or GED is required; technical school is a plus, with 1–2 years of industrial maintenance experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical school preferred.
• 1–2 years industrial maintenance experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings.
• Basic mathematical ability and measurement skills.
• Willingness to work assigned days/shifts, including some weekends.

Responsibilities

• Construct, maintain and test mechanical equipment, machinery and components.
• Identify parts or machines needing new or replacement parts.
• Utilize shop mathematics to complete assignments.
• Interpret drawings of equipment to adjust, maintain or repair machinery.
• Respond to maintenance requests from production area when issues are identified.
• Communicate with production management to diagnose problems and plan fixes.
• Perform preventive maintenance.
• Complete tasks accurately with respect to time and resources.
