Job summary

Pilgrim’s is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for the 2nd shift at our Virginia feedmill facility. The role runs 3:00 PM to 2:00 AM and involves maintaining and repairing mechanical equipment, interpreting drawings, and performing preventive maintenance.

The successful candidate will have 1–2 years of industrial maintenance experience, basic math skills, and the ability to read drawings. Physical ability to operate machinery is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Technical school preferred.

Responsibilities

• Construct, maintain and test mechanical equipment, machinery and components.
• Identify parts or machines needing new or replacement parts.
• Utilize shop mathematics to complete assignments.
• Interpret drawings of equipment to adjust, maintain or repair machinery.
• Respond to production area requests when mechanical issues are identified.
• Communicate with production management to diagnose problems and potential issues.
• Perform preventive maintenance.
• Complete assigned tasks with accuracy and efficiency regarding time and resources.
