Job summary
Ferrara Candy Co. in California is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for a second shift to install, maintain, and repair food processing and packaging equipment, including conveyors and robotics. Core hours 2:30 PM–11:00 PM, Mon-Fri, with overtime based on business needs. The role requires strong mechanical skills, the ability to read schematics and blueprints, and experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Welding experience is a plus.
Qualifications
Strong mechanical aptitude to install, maintain, and repair food processing equipment.
Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems, gearboxes, motors, sensors, and drives.
Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
Proficiency with preventive maintenance and CMMS.
Welding experience preferred (MIG/TIG).
Responsibilities
Maintain and repair food processing and packaging equipment.
Install and maintain gearboxes, shafts, belts, sprockets, and bearings; perform lubrication.
Install and maintain motors, sensors, switches, and electrical devices.
Troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
Analyze mechanical operations and initiate repairs.
Use CMMS to report completed work and manage tasks.
Generate parts requisitions from inventory systems.
Complete preventive maintenance routines as assigned.
Identify root causes and implement long-term solutions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
