Job summary

Ferrara in Fairfield, CA is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for a 3rd shift (10:00 PM to 6:30 AM, Mon-Fri) with overtime as needed. The role focuses on installing, maintaining, and repairing food processing and packaging equipment with PM routines and CMMS reporting.

Responsibilities include repairing conveyors, motors, gearboxes, pumps, and sensors; troubleshooting pneumatic and hydraulic systems; reading schematics; and ensuring safe, efficient operation to meet plant goals.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read schematics, blueprints and equipment manuals.
• Willingness to work overtime and varying start times as needed.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Premises a team player with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair food processing and packaging equipment and associated components.
• Install and maintain gearboxes, shafts, bearings, sprockets, belts, and general mechanical equipment; perform lubrication.
• Install and maintain electric motors, motor starters, sensors, switches, and general electrical/electronic devices.
• Troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Analyze mechanical operations and initiate maintenance actions.
• Use CMMS to report work and generate parts requisitions.
• Complete preventive maintenance routines; identify root causes and implement solutions.
