Job summary

Summa Health at Barberton Campus seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician for a full-time, 40-hour, 2nd-shift role. You will analyze tenant service requests and perform preventive maintenance across electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, vinyl and HVAC systems.

Strong communication with healthcare staff and ability to read blueprints are required. Minimum qualifications include two years of trade school or equivalent and two years of general maintenance experience; EPA

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of trade school or equivalent.
• High school level courses in grammar, composition and mathematics.
• Two (2) years general maintenance experience in a large institution, commercial facility or service company.
• EPA refrigeration certification preferred; if not, must obtain within 6–12 months.
• Ability to plan, prioritize workload and resolve problems.
• Ability to communicate with healthcare professionals, engineers, contractors and staff.
• Ability to analyze data, diagnose and troubleshoot complex systems and equipment.
• Ability to work from blueprints and drawings.
• Demonstrate behaviors consistent with customer service policy.
• Interact with patients/customers with dignity and respect.
• Medium physical demands: 20–50 pounds occasionally / 10–25 pounds frequently.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and responds to tenant service requests for electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, vinyl and HVAC tasks.
• Performs preventative maintenance and completes records for main mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical).
• Performs safety checks; orders supplies and equipment; performs related functions.
