Job summary

Tyson Foods, Inc. is seeking a maintenance technician to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain feed mill equipment and facilities.

The role requires practical experience with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and involves climbing, heavy lifting, and on-call duties. The successful candidate will have forklift training within 30 days, a valid Alabama driver’s license, and availability for 2nd shift.

Qualifications

• This role requires at least six months of industrial maintenance experience or completion of a Maintenance Training Program.
• Experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, welding and fabrication is expected.
• Ability to operate small tools and welders; forklift training and certification are required within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair all equipment and assets in a safe work environment.
• Perform preventive maintenance on feed mill equipment; assist in spare parts inventory control.
• Maintain records as required by Tyson and regulatory agencies; follow safety procedures and policies.
• Operate and troubleshoot conveyors, gear boxes, pneumatics and hydraulics; assist with boiler and railcar operations as needed.
• Respond to maintenance issues; work overtime, weekends or holidays as required.
• Move and lift heavy items, climb ladders, and work in high, dusty environments.
• Adhere to PPE requirements and Tyson policies at all times.
