Job summary

TeDan Surgical Innovations is seeking a 2nd Shift Supervisor to oversee machining and assembly, ensuring safe, compliant production against daily targets. You will lead a frontline team, drive Lean initiatives, and coordinate with planning and engineering to optimize routings and work instructions.

The role emphasizes reducing waste, maintaining 5S standards, and delivering audit-ready documentation in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of manufacturing experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Experience in machining and/or assembly operations, preferably in a regulated industry (medical device, aerospace, etc.).
• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles (5S, standard work, waste reduction).
• Experience with ERP/MES systems for production tracking and execution.
• Strong problem-solving skills with ability to react quickly to operational issues.
• Experience leading and developing operators and leads.

Responsibilities

• Lead shift operations across machining and assembly to meet safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and 5S-compliant work environment by addressing risks and enforcing safety procedures.
• Execute daily production plans, prioritize work orders, and coordinate shift handoffs to keep operations running smoothly.
• Supervise, coach, and develop operators and leads while reinforcing standard work, training, and performance expectations.
• Monitor production performance, elevate issues, and lead problem-solving to remove bottlenecks and improve flow.
• Drive Lean and continuous improvement efforts, including visual management, waste reduction, setup improvement, and Kaizen activities.
• Optimize labor, machines, and material availability to maximize productivity and support schedule adherence.
• Partner with planning, engineering, and continuous improvement teams to improve routings, work instructions, and process performance.
• Ensure compliance with quality system requirements and maintain audit-ready standards for documentation, traceability, and cleanliness.
