Job summary

Shape Technologies Group is seeking an experienced Machine Shop Supervisor to oversee the 2nd shift machine shop in Baxter Springs, KS. You will supervise shop personnel, coordinate daily operations, ensure production efficiency, and uphold safety and quality standards.

You will report to the Director of Manufacturing and collaborate across departments to ensure seamless operations. You will lead training, mentor Team Leaders, and drive continuous improvement through Lean and 5 Why methodologies

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical training or equivalent work experience.
• Three+ years of machining and supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision to shop personnel and maintain a safe, productive environment.
• Develop training programs to build a cross-functional, high-performing team.
• Mentor Team Leaders and strengthen leadership capabilities.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and problem-solving.
• Manage machine shop workflows and schedules with Production Scheduler.
• Ensure equipment maintenance and upkeep.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering on tooling, quality, and cost reduction.
• Work with engineers on designs and process changes.
• Prepare daily reports: work orders, efficiency, earned hours.
• Uphold safety, QMS, and quality standards; enforce company policies.
