Overview

Basic Scope/Purpose: The job’s primary purpose or contribution to the department or organization. The Operator - Hoyt position will manufacture quality Wire Cloth products by performing preset, set-up and operation of Crimpers, Straighteners, Presses, Press Brakes, Shears, Welders, Roll Mills, and Hot Melt Machines; and perform material handling duties.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and set up equipment including Crimpers, Straighteners, Presses, Press Brakes, Shears, Welders, Roll Mills, and Hot Melt Machines; perform material handling duties.
  • Follow safe work practices, maintain clean and organized work area using the 6S system (sort, set in order, shine, standardize, sustain, safety).
  • Perform visual inspection to ensure product quality; measure critical dimensions and adjust machines as needed.
  • Assist Level 2 and Level 3 Operators; setup and operate Crimpers, Straighteners, Presses, Looms, and Welders with guidance.
  • Assist Loom operators with setup when working on Loom; provide directions and support as required.
  • Maintain and replace worn tooling; adapt to changes in work priorities to meet production needs.
  • Promote company values and behaviors at all times.
Qualifications

Education and Experience: Level 1 Operator requires High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent experience; 1–3 months related experience or demonstrated skill. Level 2 requires Operator 1 with minimal assistance for 1 year. Level 3 requires rotation through all machine cell and setup positions with minimal assistance for 3 years.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: None Required.

Environmental, Health & Safety
  • Learn and follow EHS policies, wear required PPE, and participate in risk assessments and safety observations.
  • Report incidents, near misses, unsafe conditions, and take corrective actions; STOP WORK when imminent danger is present.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area and ensure equipment is in proper working condition.
