Somic America Inc. in Brewer, ME is seeking a CNC Machinist to set up and operate numeric control equipment, ensuring parts meet tight specifications. You will perform hourly inspections and adjust tooling as needed while adhering to safety and quality policies.
The role includes changeovers, machine setup, and contributing to process improvements. Candidates should have a High School diploma or GED and the ability to read technical documents, perform mathematical calculations, and interpret SPC
Sets up and operates numerical control equipment to machine components to specifications by performing the following duties. Satisfy SAs Quality goals and objectives in completion of activities or duties (reference Somic America Quality Manual and Quality Policy).

High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Have the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs and Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
