Job summary

Blackrock Logistics is seeking a Logistics/Transportation Planner for 2nd shift to plan, coordinate, and optimize freight across our network, developing efficient routing and carrier schedules while balancing cost and service. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2 years of transportation planning, dispatch, or logistics coordination.
• Working knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS) and route-optimization tools.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule daily inbound and outbound shipments to meet delivery commitments and service-level agreements.
• Optimize routing, load consolidation, and carrier selection to balance cost, capacity, and transit time.
• Coordinate with carriers, drivers, warehouse teams, and customers to confirm pickup and delivery appointments.
• Monitor shipments in transit and proactively resolve delays, exceptions, and capacity constraints.
• Tender loads to carriers, negotiate rates, and track on-time delivery and other performance metrics.
• Maintain accurate records in the transportation management system (TMS) and generate planning and status reports.
• Ensure shipment planning complies with DOT, FMCSA, and California hours-of-service and transportation regulations.
• Analyze transportation data and KPIs to identify cost-savings and process-improvement opportunities.
• Develop contingency plans to manage disruptions such as carrier shortages, weather, and demand spikes.
