Job summary

Atkore is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor for the Harvey, IL facility on 2nd shift (M-F, 3p-11p). You will supervise the machine operating staff, lead Lean Daily Management, and own the shift’s safety, quality, delivery and productivity performance.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing; a bachelor’s degree is preferred. Lean manufacturing or business system experience is strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in steel manufacturing or tube forming strongly preferred.
• Lean manufacturing or business system experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead using the Atkore Business System and Lean Daily Management to drive improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
• Develop plans to improve engagement and performance within the value stream.
• Maintain a positive team atmosphere with regular meetings and empowered decision-making.
• Implement cross training to ensure proper function of work cells.
• Coach team members to identify problems, perform root cause analyses and implement countermeasures.
• Manage vacation schedules and overtime while upholding Atkore values.
