Cardinal Staffing Services in Sandusky, OH, is seeking a Production Lead Supervisor to manage a second shift in a folding carton manufacturing environment with state-of-the-art print equipment. The role focuses on safe, efficient production and effective handovers to ensure orders meet specifications and deadlines.

The ideal candidate will have 1 year of supervisory manufacturing experience, familiarity with manufacturing software, and ideally folding carton industry exposure.

• Associate's degree or high school diploma with 1 year supervisory experience in manufacturing.

• Schedules working shift to include: work station assignments/rotations, employee training, vacations, breaks, overtime, and back-up for absent employees.
• Coordinates plant activities with department heads to ensure objectives are accomplished on time and cost effectively.
• Monitors plant performance for production and quality standards and adjusts schedules as needed.
• Implements preventative maintenance programs under direction of Plant Manager.

Cardinal Staffing is currently hiring a PRODUCTION LEAD SUPERVISOR in Sandusky, OH. As a production suspervisor you will work in a world class folding carton's manufacturing environment, with state of the art print equipment.

SUMMARY

The Shift Supervisor manages the shift and all production staff. The employee ensures the smooth running of the production process and that production handovers are effective communications tools, all products are produced to the specified specifications, deadlines are met to achieve the orders and all direct staff comply with the company’s policies and safety procedures. Possesses the comprehension/ability to perform job satisfactorily.

Compensation based on expereince $28-30Benefits at hire in 2nd shift 2p-10p with ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Supervises, trains and coaches production employees on working shift.
2. Directs and manages plant operations for production, maintenance, quality and shipping and receiving during working shift.
3. Schedules working shift to include: work station assignments/rotations, employee training, employee vacations, employee breaks, overtime assignment, and back-up as needed for absent employees.
4. Coordinates plant activities through the planning with departmental heads and managers to insure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner during working shift.
5. Monitors overall plant performance for production and quality standards by closely monitoring and adjusting schedule board.
6. Controls and minimizes labor overtime and repair expenses.
7. Maintains existing plant facilities and equipment; notifies Plant Manager when adjustments to plant facilities and equipment are necessary.
8. Provides leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
9. Uses problem solving and trouble shooting skills to ensure that all team members can identify root causes and take fast effective action to resolve the problems in hand.
10. Implements and maintains preventative maintenance programs with direction of Plant Manager.
11. Incorporates shop floor organization and plant cleanliness among plant personnel.
12. Works through the entire shift to be supervised and communicates with other supervisors daily.
13. Communicates as necessary with Shift Supervisors, and Production and Office staff in an effective and professional manner to ensure smooth production, reduce downtime and increase customer satisfaction.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Directly supervises production employees on shift working.
• Carriers out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Sandusky Packaging Corporation's policies and applicable laws.
• Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree in related field or high school diploma; or general education degree (GED) and 1 year supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment; or equivalent combination of education, experience and certification. Experienced with Manufacturing software. Experience in Folding Carton industry is preferred.
