Job summary

Lake Air Products is seeking a Shift Lead for the 3:30pm–2:00am shift in Vadnais Heights, MN. You will supervise daily production activities, coordinate tasks, and coach team members to meet safety, quality, and efficiency goals.

The role requires 5+ years in sheet metal manufacturing (Press Brake, Turret Laser Combo, or Welding) and prior supervisory experience. Proficiency with ERP systems, blueprints, and measuring tools is essential.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or GED.
• 5+ years of sheet metal manufacturing experience in Press Brake, Turret Laser Combo and/or Welding.
• Previous team lead or supervisory experience.
• Ability to read blueprints and use measuring equipment, including height gauges.
• Basic math skills, including decimals and percentages.
• Proficient with email, Word, Excel, and ERP systems.
• Knowledge of 5S practices and manufacturing safety standards.
• Experience coaching, training, and developing employees.
• Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective time management with the ability to take initiative.
• Ability to handle questions and concerns professionally and respectfully.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support daily production activities to meet safety, quality, efficiency, and production goals.
• Assign work and ensure team members have the materials, tools, and information needed.
• Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and feedback to employees.
• Monitor production targets, workflow, and KPIs; address issues and elevate concerns as needed.
• Conduct first-piece and visual inspections to ensure quality standards.
• Lead daily team meetings and communicate shift handoffs.
• Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Logistics, IT, and other departments.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and proper material handling.
• Enforce company policies, safety procedures, PPE requirements, and 5S standards.
• Support safety walkthroughs, incident investigations, emergency procedures, and corrective actions.
• Flex between departments or locations as needed to support operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
