Job summary

Reliance, Inc. is seeking a 2nd Shift Operator to operate laser cutting equipment, review specifications, and ensure quality in metal processing and distribution.

Must have forklift experience and at least 1 year of laser experience; role involves reading blueprints and setting up machines to meet job specs. The position is part of the Plant family and includes safety and quality compliance in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED preferred.
• 0-5 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Experience with warehousing and material handling preferred.
• Experience setting up, operating, and troubleshooting metalworking machines preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions.
• Basic measurement skills and math computations.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic production activities on laser machines.
• Review work orders and tooling instructions to understand machining characteristics.
• Set up laser cutting unit with appropriate nozzles, speeds and feeds.
• Determine processing specifications and tolerances.
• Position work pieces and operate laser machines as needed.
• Perform quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, scales and squares.
• Maintain equipment and perform housekeeping and documentation.
