Job summary

JohnsByrne is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift in Niles, IL. The role focuses on keeping machinery running smoothly through preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and timely repairs.

You will work with the production team, maintain maintenance records, and assist in installing new equipment while upholding safety standards and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in maintenance or a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in industrial maintenance or a similar role.
• Proven experience with troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Experience in preventive maintenance and equipment diagnostics.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards in an industrial setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment and systems to ensure their optimal performance.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, and perform timely repairs to minimize production disruptions.
• Collaborate with the production team to understand equipment needs and address any operational concerns.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements, and inspections.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies while performing maintenance tasks.
• Assist in the installation and setup of new machinery and equipment as needed.
• Monitor inventory levels of maintenance supplies and tools, and coordinate with procurement for replenishment.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians and other staff members.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance processes and equipment reliability.
