Job summary

Progress Rail, a Caterpillar Company, is seeking a maintenance technician for the Jackson, SC wheel shop. The role involves troubleshooting PLC, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems on production machines and facilities, and performing various maintenance activities.

You will document work orders and parts usage in CMMS, and welding/metal fabrication are part of the job. Applicants should have at least 12 months of relevant production experience, basic electrical skills, and

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months of experience as a mechanical or electrical technician in a high-volume production facility.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, procedures and work instructions.
• Capable and safe use of hand and power tools, including pneumatic tools.
• Welding and metal fabrication experience preferred.
• PLC experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and maintain PLC, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems on production machines and facilities.
• Perform Unplanned, Planned, and Preventative and Predictive Maintenance as required.
• Utilize CMMS to document Work Order Tasks, Repairs, Inventory and Spare Parts utilization.
• Perform Arc and MIG welding and metal cutting to repair and maintain machines and facilities.
