Job summary

Great Dane in Terre Haute, IN, is seeking a 2nd shift maintenance technician to diagnose, repair, and optimize production equipment. You’ll read schematics, set up metalworking tools, and return machinery to production faster, safer, and more reliable.

Qualifications

• Comfort using pneumatic tools and shop equipment.
• Strong organization and attention to detail with a professional approach.
• Ability to accurately use a tape measure and precision tools.
• Hands-on mechanical aptitude; follow written and verbal directions.
• Problem-solver who learns quickly and resolves issues promptly.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and test production equipment to find root causes of malfunctions.
• Listen for irregular sounds, confer with supervisors, and plan effective repairs.
• Dismantle machines to access problem areas; replace worn parts in drives and hydraulics.
• Realign and fine-tune components such as spindles, clutches, and ball screws.
• Read blueprints/schematics; clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears.
• Start up equipment post-repair and verify performance; fix parts as needed.
• Set up and operate metalworking tools to make/repair parts.
• Maintain hydraulic/pneumatic systems; replace gauges and valves.
• Repair and maintain facility structures; fabricate counters, benches.
