Job summary

Sonoco is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Reliability Technician (IMRT) in Beavercreek, OH, to support maximum plant reliability. You will perform proactive maintenance, root cause analysis, and repairs across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation systems, reporting to the Plant Engineer.

Qualifications include a high school diploma (vocational preferred) and 4+ years in a similar role for I level, with advanced levels up to Sr.

Qualifications

• High school diploma (preferably with a vocational focus).
• Associate degree in Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance or related field; or equivalent military experience.
• IMRT I – 4+ years in similar role; II – 6+; III – 8+; Sr – 10+ years.
• Starting level determined by plant based on skills and experience.

Responsibilities

• Understand and comply with safety policies and procedures; perform tasks safely and be a safety owner.
• Proactively maintain, install, and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and steam systems.
• Install and troubleshoot AC/DC drives/motors; modify PLC programs as required.
• Weld and fabricate electrical, piping, pneumatic, and mechanical components as needed.
• Perform shop work using machining and shop equipment (lathes, drills, milling machines).
• Document maintenance activity in CMMS to build asset history.
• Drive preventive/predictive maintenance; participate in improvement of maintenance procedures.
• Communicate with operations to resolve abnormal equipment conditions; develop operator skills for asset ownership.
• Identify opportunities to improve inspection, lubrication, and hard-to-access areas.
• Meet housekeeping and 5S standards in all maintenance areas.
