Job summary

Tyson Foods in Humboldt, TN is seeking a 2nd Shift Supervisor to manage designated shift operations, supervise production supervisors, and coordinate with department heads to meet quality and yield goals.

You will ensure compliance with OSHA, USDA, HACCP, maintain labor and product quality standards, and participate in safety, sanitation, and security practices, with relocation eligibility and travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred within related field.
• 3+ years of related industry experience required.
• 1+ years supervisory experience in a meat processing facility preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA, USDA, HACCP regulations essential.
• Strong math and numerical data interpretation skills helpful.

Responsibilities

• Manage subordinate supervisors who supervise plant team members.
• Carry out supervisory responsibilities per policies and laws.
• Interview, hire, and train team members; plan and direct work.
• Monitor performance and provide coaching and discipline as needed.
• Address complaints and resolve problems to maintain operations.

Summary

• Assisting in controlling expenses
• Ensuring compliance and coordination with federal meat inspection and OSHA requirements
• Interpreting and enforcing company policies
• Assisting in determining manpower needs and making recommendations
• Preparing and maintaining records and reports to accurately reflect conditions
• Solving problems effectively with sound follow-up
• Collaborating with department heads to meet production quality yields and goals
• Ensuring maintenance of labor standards, performance quality, and product quality
• Inspecting and maintaining high competence in housekeeping, safety, sanitation, and security
• Supervising production supervisors
• Overseeing all designated shift operations

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree preferred
• 3+ years of related industry experience
• 1+ years of supervisory experience in a meat processing facility preferred
• Knowledge of OSHA, USDA, and HACCP regulations
• Standard computer skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Up to 10% travel
