Job summary

Hayes Company in Mesquite, TX is seeking a Gate Attendant for 2nd shift (3:30 pm–1:30 am). This full-time role covers warehouse access control, badge issuance, and visitor/driver coordination to ensure security and smooth operations.

The position requires high school diploma or equivalent, strong communication skills, and the ability to work calmly in a busy environment. Training will cover logging systems, safety procedures, and effective team communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous security or warehouse operations experience preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to operate digital logging systems and radio communication devices.
• Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures is a plus.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
• Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
• Basic computer skills for log entry and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor entry and exit to ensure only authorized individuals are granted access.
• Verify visitor and driver IDs using government-issued ID.
• Issue visitor and driver badges, maintaining accurate records and logging details.
• Record full name, company, contract number, host, purpose, time in/out.
• Notify warehouse personnel of visitor arrivals.
• Maintain professional communication with drivers and visitors.
• Report any irregularities or unauthorized access attempts.
• Periodically check containers entering or leaving the facility.
• Record truck details including license plate, carrier, and cargo information.
• Direct drivers to loading/unloading areas and communicate yard safety protocols.
• Conduct routine checks of the premises and surroundings.
• Follow emergency procedures and report hazards promptly.
• Report safety hazards or suspicious activity immediately.
