Golden State Foods in Opelika, AL seeks a 2nd shift Meat Block Handler to unpack, visually inspect, and place frozen blocks of meat on a conveyor for grinding. The role emphasizes safety, food safety, quality and compliance, with training and certifications as required.

You will operate conveyors and detectors, keep the work area clean, document work, and maintain inventory of blocks. Must stand for long shifts, lift up to 100 lbs, and adhere to PPE guidelines in a damp, high-noise environment.

Qualificações

• Must pass safety and certifications as required.
• Experience in food manufacturing or meat handling is preferred.
• Ability to read and follow simple instructions and memos.

Responsabilidades

• Adheres to safety, food safety, quality and legal compliance.
• Perform all work in accordance with environmental, health and safety standards, rules, regulations and practices of the facility.
• Must be able to pass training/certifications as required for qualification.
• Sanitarily unpacking 60- pound frozen blocks of meat.
• Visually checking blocks for quality using an automatic metal detector.
• Place the blocks on a conveyor to be ground.
• Maintain the supply and the type of blocks needed for the type of meat being produced.
• Keep work area clean.
• Document completed work as required by the supervisor.
• Compliance with all other duties as assigned.
