Job summary

Durex Industries is seeking a Caster/Foundry Worker for the 2nd shift to support with preparing molds, handling aluminum, and maintaining equipment to ensure high-quality castings. The role requires strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and the ability to work independently while meeting production targets.

The position offers a $1,000 sign-on bonus, 2nd shift with a 15% differential, and opportunities to grow within a leading thermal solutions provider serving multiple industries.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret scales, rulers, blueprints and work orders.
• Proficiency with hand tools (pliers, wrenches, hammers, chisels) and measuring equipment.
• Experience reading digital thermometers for temperature monitoring.
• Forklift operation is a plus.
• Strong commitment to safety procedures and high-quality standards.
• Able to work independently and with others in a fast-paced foundry environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and preheat permanent and sand molds to ensure optimal casting conditions.
• Prepare elements before installation on molds and install elements onto molds for casting.
• Pack sand around patterns to create molds and prepare them for casting.
• Monitor heating unit temperatures, furnace gauges and flames to meet specs.
• Melt metals and add alloys to achieve casting properties.
• Pour aluminum into molds with precision and consistency.
• Inspect molds and conduct quality tests during casting to ensure standards.
