Job summary

Durex Industries is seeking a Caster, Foundry Worker (1st Shift) to support mold preparation, aluminum handling, and equipment maintenance for high-quality castings.

The role requires strong attention to detail, safety, and the ability to work independently while meeting quality standards. Relevant experience with foundry equipment and measurement tools is preferred, with a pay range of $20.00–$21.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Ability to read scales, rulers, blueprints, and work orders accurately.
• Proficiency in using hand tools such as pliers, wrenches, hammers, chisels, and measuring equipment.
• Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and preheat permanent and sand molds to ensure optimal casting conditions.
• Prepare elements before installation on molds.
• Install elements onto molds for casting.
• Pack sand around patterns to create molds and prepare them for casting.
• Monitor the temperature of heating units, gauges, and furnace flames to ensure metals melt to spec.
• Melt metals to required temperatures and add alloys to achieve properties.
• Pour aluminum into molds with consistency and precision.
• Spray and/or pour permanent molds as instructed.
• Cut risers and gates for proper casting flow.
• Clean, fill, and maintain the melting furnace.
• Inspect molds for defects and ensure high-quality castings.
• Conduct quality tests during casting and correct defects.
• Move materials within the foundry to maintain workflow.
• Keep detailed records of materials used (sand, alloys, metals).
• Use hand tools for shaping, cutting, finishing metal components.
• Maintain, operate, and clean furnaces, molds, and strip-out machines.
