Job summary

Casella Waste Systems, Inc. is seeking a diligent Equipment Operator for 2nd shift to safely run forklifts, skid steers, and recycling balers in our MRF. You will perform inspections, monitor materials for hazards, and assist maintenance teams to minimize downtime.

A strong safety mindset and teamwork are essential. Responsibilities include operating multiple machines, reporting issues promptly, and participating in ongoing training to expand skills across equipment types and processes.

Qualifications

• Legally eligible to work in the US; team player with safety focus.
• High school diploma preferred; driver’s license helpful.
• Experience with heavy equipment is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts, skid steers, recycling balers and loaders.
• Perform pre-trip and post-operation inspections of equipment.
• Monitor recycled materials for hazardous waste; maintain safety protocols.
• Assist in facility maintenance and equipment cleanliness.
• Provide detailed information on mechanical issues to enable timely repairs.
• Engage in training to expand equipment knowledge and operational scope.
