Job summary

Plastic Recycling Inc. seeks a Machine Operator to safely operate grinding and baling equipment in a recycling facility. You will support daily production by handling materials, loading with forklifts, and keeping the work area clean and safe in alignment with company standards.

The role reports to the Plant Supervisor and is a full-time in-person position offering evening shifts. Prior manufacturing or recycling experience is preferred, with forklift familiarity as a plus.

Qualifications

• ≥1 year of manufacturing, recycling, or grinding operation experience preferred.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Safety-conscious and able to work in a plant environment.

Job Summary

The Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of grinding and/or baling equipment used to process recyclable materials. This role supports daily production activities by operating machinery, handling materials, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment while ensuring compliance with company safety and operational standards.

Reports to: Plant Supervisor

Classification: Non-Exempt

Pay : $16.25 - $16.50 per hour + shift differential

Schedule/Hours

This is an In-Person Full Time Position consisting of 5 8-hour evening shifts. The position is expected to work weekly from Monday to Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. to achieve a total of 40 work hours.

Requirements

Education and Experience

• > 1 years of manufacturing, recycling, or grinding operation experience preferred
• Forklift experience preferred

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for prolonged periods; use hands and arms to operate machinery and equipment; bend, kneel, crouch, and lift materials throughout the shift; and communicate effectively with fellow employees and supervisors.

The Employee Must Be Able To

• Lift up to 40 pounds
• Work in varying temperatures, humidity, moisture, dust, and dirty environments
• Safely operate forklifts and industrial equipment
• Maintain close and distance vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision necessary for operating machinery and completing documentation

Work Environment

This position works in a manufacturing and recycling facility environment with exposure to moving mechanical equipment, industrial noise, dust, and fluctuating temperatures. Proper PPE must be worn at all times.
