Job summary

PLASTIC RECYCLING, INC. is seeking a Machine Operator to safely and efficiently operate grinding and baling equipment processing recyclable materials. You will support daily production by handling materials, performing maintenance, and upholding safety standards in a 40-hour weekly evening shift.

The role reports to the Plant Supervisor and is a non-exempt, in-person full-time position with a 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. schedule and a $16.25–$16.50 hourly pay range plus shift differential.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of manufacturing, recycling, or grinding operation experience preferred.
• Forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate grinding and/or baling equipment and other related production equipment safely and efficiently.
• Move, load, and stage materials using forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Assist with equipment setup, cleaning, and routine maintenance activities.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow all safety procedures.
• Perform other production duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Summary

The Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of grinding and/or baling equipment used to process recyclable materials. This role supports daily production activities by operating machinery, handling materials, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment while ensuring compliance with company safety and operational standards.

Schedule/Hours

This is an In-Person Full Time Position consisting of 5 8-hour evening shifts. The position is expected to work weekly from Monday to Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. to achieve a total of 40 work hours.

Requirements

• > 1 years of manufacturing, recycling, or grinding operation experience preferred

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for prolonged periods; use hands and arms to operate machinery and equipment; bend, kneel, crouch, and lift materials throughout the shift; and communicate effectively with fellow employees and supervisors.

The employee must be able to:

• Lift up to 40 pounds
• Work in varying temperatures, humidity, moisture, dust, and dirty environments
• Safely operate forklifts and industrial equipment
• Maintain close and distance vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision necessary for operating machinery and completing documentation

Work Environment

This position works in a manufacturing and recycling facility environment with exposure to moving mechanical equipment, industrial noise, dust, and fluctuating temperatures. Proper PPE must be worn at all times.
