Job summary

Dauch Corporation is seeking a reliable Forklift Operator to support our manufacturing operations in Chicago. The role involves safely transporting materials, line-side supply, and maintaining inventory accuracy to ensure uninterrupted production.

Candidates should have at least 1 year of forklift experience, the ability to obtain certification on hire, and familiarity with RF scanners or inventory systems. High school diploma or GED preferred. Overtime and weekend availability may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum of one year forklift operating experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or distribution environment.
• Ability to obtain certification upon hire.
• Basic computer skills and experience using RF scanners or inventory systems preferred.
• Ability to read shipping documents, work orders, and inventory labels.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts in accordance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
• Supply production lines with materials according to production schedules.
• Stage materials for production, shipping, and storage.
• Verify material quantities, labels, and locations before movement.
• Utilize RF scanners, barcode systems, or warehouse management systems to complete inventory transactions.
• Perform pre-shift inspections of forklifts and report equipment issues promptly.
• Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and inventory reconciliation.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
• Follow all safety, quality, environmental, and company policies.
• Support Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ability to operate powered industrial equipment for extended periods.
• Frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, and twist throughout the workday.
• Lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
