Job summary

Challenge Manufacturing in Walker, MI, is seeking a reliable forklift operator for a 2nd shift. You will move materials, load/unload pallets, and support inventory control while upholding safety and quality in a busy plant environment.

The role runs Monday through Friday, 2:30 PM–10:30 PM, with occasional overtime including weekends to meet customer needs. ESOP ownership reflects our values of safety, ownership, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English well enough to safely perform job duties.
• Able to stand for 8-10 hours and perform essential functions with/without accommodations.
• High School diploma or GED.
• One month related experience or training; or equivalent.
• Previous material handling work experience preferred.
• Previous Hi-Lo driving experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observes and complies with safety, environmental, regulatory, and statutory requirements.
• Participates in training programs and continuous improvement activities.
• Stops work on processes as needed to contain defects.
• Operates forklift to move pallets and load/unload materials.
• Loads/unloads materials onto pallets and transports them within the plant.
• Responsible for inventory in the work area and supplying materials as needed.
