Job summary

Production Operator - 2nd Shift at dsm-firmenich in South Bend, IN. Responsible for weighing, mixing and processing raw materials per GMPs, with emphasis on safety, quality, and documentation. Role includes setup, calibration, sampling, and routine maintenance of process equipment.

2nd shift runs Monday to Friday 1:00pm–9:30pm. The position requires lifting up to 25 kg, basic computer use, and ability to read and follow SOPs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18+ and legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Ability to lift up to 25 kg (55 lb) during shift.
• One year production or food service experience preferred.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Able to wear a respirator as needed.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety awareness and accident prevention in all tasks.
• Operate process and utility equipment per procedures and gCGMP/HAACP/SHE guidelines.
• Collect samples for QC analyses per procedures.
• Set up, calibrate, and monitor instruments (pH meter, metal detectors).
• Tear down, clean, and reassemble equipment and lines.
• Identify and respond to deviations in process, product, or equipment.
• Set up recipes and SOPs; document steps and records.
• Identify variations in raw materials, color, moisture, or temperature and take action.
• Operate powered industrial vehicles to move materials as needed.
• Perform minor maintenance to keep processes running.
