Job summary

Michigan Turkey Producers Co-op is seeking a hands-on 2nd Shift Machine Maintenance Technician 2 in Grand Rapids, MI. The role focuses on non-production maintenance of plant equipment, preventive repairs, and project work under supervision of the Maintenance and Refrigeration Manager.

Essential duties include responding to line calls, maintaining equipment uptime, and mentoring others through training. Overtime and safety compliance are expected in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Journeyman or Accredited Certification in Machine repair or 5 years experience in machine repair.
• Electrical troubleshooting with PLC and VFD experience.
• TIG welding stainless steel to “food grade” standards.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Must be able to wear personal protective equipment as required for job role.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on plant equipment in a timely, thorough, and efficient manner.
• Respond to line calls in a professional, safe, and timely manner; down equipment takes priority.
• Track parts usage and order replacement parts within budget.
• Manage contracted projects from start to finish.
• Assist Refrigeration Specialists as required.
• Participate in HAZMAT.
