Job summary

Smurfit Westrock plc in Kentucky is seeking a Folder/Gluer Apprentice for the 2nd shift to correctly set up the feed section of the machine and assist the operator during training. The role involves cross-training across all functions on folder/gluer machines in our facility.

You will be trained across the various tasks, with overtime required and a focus on safety and cleanliness of equipment and work area.

Qualifications

• Setting up the feed section of the machine in a timely manner.
• Ensuring that sheets placed in the machine are in proper placement.
• Maintain overall quality and cleanliness of the machine.
• Assist the operator on all aspects as required during training.
• Fill in during the absence of the operator.
• Responsible for the overall Safety and cleanliness of equipment and area.
• Work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Overtime is required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Summary:

The Folder/Gluer Apprentice is responsible for the correct set up of the feed section of the machine along with assisting the machine operator with other duties. This position will cross-train in all functions and tasks with running the folder/gluer machines in our facility. Future folder gluer operators will come from the folder gluer Apprentice pool.

The starting rate is$22.78per hour, depending on your role, level, and location. The benefits for this role may include short-term bonus incentive, health, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and paid sick leave as required by applicable state/local law, 10 days of paid vacation, and 11 days of paid holidays, subject to annual change.
