Job summary

HES Facilities Management is seeking a 2nd shift Floor Technician to join our team serving Pender County Schools. The role requires cleaning floors, maintaining equipment, and supporting custodial operations across facilities in Hampstead and nearby areas.

Candidates should have 5+ years of floor cleaning experience, knowledge of floor machines, and the ability to travel to Hampstead/Surf City with their own vehicle. Weekend and holiday shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have 5+ years experience with floor cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping and detail cleaning.
• Experience using floor machines (buffers, burnishers, floor vacuums, etc.).
• Must be able to operate ladders and maintain equipment responsibly.
• Ability to clean various floor types: cement, ceramic, vinyl, carpet and terrazzo.

Responsibilities

• Perform cleaning tasks as directed by Leads, Supervisors and Managers.
• Assist general cleaners as needed and be willing to learn additional techniques.
• Work weekends and some holidays as required.
• Drive to Hampstead/Surf City area with own dependable vehicle.

2nd Shift Floor Technician(Pender County Schools)

Job Skills / Requirements

Must Have 5 or more years experience with: Sweeping Floors, Mopping Floors, Detail Cleaning Corners, Edges & Kick Plate Cleaning, Use of Razor or Floor Scraper, Prior knowledge of using all floor machines. (buffers, burnishers, floor vacuum, etc.)

Floor Detail and Rinsing Techniques After Stripping or Scrubbing

Knowledge of Scrubbing Floors, waxing and sealing floors.

Use of Carpet Cleaning Machines/Extraction and Bonneting/Carpet Spotting

Must be able to Clean and Manage- Cement, Ceramic Tiles w/Grout Lines, LVT, VCT, Carpet, Terrazzo, Floor Drain Maintenance

Knowledge of floor cleaning pads/brushes and when to use specifics.

Must have knowledge of how to clean equipment-Filtering & Hose Systems and Squeegees

Minor Maintenance on Equipment including Battery Changes, Use of Distilled Water for Battery Renewal, Filter Cleaning, Squeegee Replacement, Hose Replacement, Tightening or Replacing Nuts Bolts & Wheels

Must have knowledge of use of 6 Foot Ladders to Change Light Bulbs

Other duties asked or assigned by Leads, Supervisors & Managers

Must be willing to work weekends and some holidays.

Must be flexible to Drive in the Hampstead and Surf City Areas (Must have your Own Dependable Vehicle)

May be asked to Help or Assist General Cleaners (Willing to Learn General Cleaning Techniques)
