Job summary

SteelFab, Inc. in Chandler, AZ fabricates simple steel parts by reading blueprints and building to specifications using hand and power tools, a track type oxy-fuel cutting apparatus.

You will pass weld tests, interpret structural drawings, camber parts, operate cutting torch, and tighten bolts with an impact wrench while safely running the bridge crane. This role requires reading tape measures, lifting up to 50 lbs, and preferred experience in steel fabrication.

Qualifications

• HS education or equivalent; ability to read weld symbols.
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Two+ years' experience in steel fabrication preferred.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate simple steel parts per blueprints and specifications.
• Pass tack weld test in 3F and 4F positions with F4 electrode group.
• Interpret structural steel blue prints (shop drawings).
• Camber (heat or mechanical) parts as required.
• Operate cutting torch.

• Use magnetic drill, reamer motors and reamers for holes.
• Perform other duties as required by management.

Essential Job Functions

• Pass tack weld test in 3 F and 4 F positions with F4 electrode group.
• Interpret structural steel blue prints (shop drawings). Simple columns and beams.
• Be able to camber (heat or mechanical).
• Operate cutting torch.
• Utilize impact wrench to tighten bolts.
• Operate overhead pendent controlled bridge crane safely and effectively.
• Use magnetic drill, reamer motors and reamers for making holes.
• Perform other duties as required by management.

Qualifications and Requirements

Required: High school education or equivalent. Basic knowledge of structural steel fasteners. Ability to read tape measure to 1/16\" increments and add / subtract fractions. Ability to read weld symbols and basic knowledge of structural steel fasteners. Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.

Preferred: Two or more years' experience in manufacturing in the steel fabrication industry.

Proficiency and use of Software, equipment, machines, tools, electronic device necessary for job:

Air arc, 90° angle grinder, crane, heating torch, impact wrench, reamers, magnetic drills, welding machine, and tape measure.
