Join our dynamic team as A Maintenance Mechanic! We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in electrical equipment to serve as a maintenance mechanic in a food manufacturing setting. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and improving machinery and equipment, including processing and packaging machinery, conveyor lines, and automated systems. The successful applicant will show a strong drive on keeping a manufacturing environment operational. Production line checks and machinery observation to conduct scheduled preventative and predictive maintenance of facility machinery and equipment. Machinery aptitude to break down assemblies to individual components and put back together without blue prints. The ideal candidate will be able to keep busy finding machinery issues, along with finding solutions to the issues they find.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Responsible for ensuring equipment is ready for production start-up in timely manner.
  • Responsible for repairs on worn out or damaged equipment.
  • Perform needed equipment modification and fabrication.
  • Perform proper preventive maintenance on all equipment.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)and Good Sanitation Practices (GSP).
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a team player and support production in any way to achieve production goals.
  • Must be able to work independently to complete assign projects and regular PM schedules.
  • Must have good computer knowledge and be able to create related document when needed.
  • Perform work, speeds, and efficiencies at company standards.
  • Develop and implement innovations to improve efficiency, safety, up-time and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Will lubricate equipment with a thorough understanding of requirements for a variety of devices and applications.
  • Completes work orders and Preventive Maintenance (PM) documentation.
  • Keep maintenance spaces(sop) and parts/equipment clean and organized.
  • Maintain storeroom inventory (INV).
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as equipment manuals, safety rules, good manufacturing processes (GMP's) and general instructions.
  • Effective communication skills are required (written and oral).
  • Ability to work safely around/with automated and semi-automated machinery.
  • Performing all tasks in a safe manner, adhering to Company work rules.
  • Performs housekeeping and cleaning duties, according to Company SOP's before equipment is put back into production.
  • Perform all other work as required.

IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • Minimum High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience working on the following: Carton machines, Flow wraps, extruders, labelers, metal detectors, x-rays, ovens, various printers, meat mixers, exhaust fans and blowers, multiple conveyors.
  • 5+years of mechanical manufacturing experience required.
  • 5+years of maintenance experience required.
  • Prior experience working in a food manufacturing facility preferred.
  • Able to work with and around cleaning chemicals and perform all sanitation duties.
  • Welding and metal fabrication knowledge and ability required (MIG and TIG).
  • Must be able to read and comprehend mechanical drawings.
  • Must be able to read and understand a multimeter.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively.
  • Good understanding of GMP and food safety concepts.
  • Must be able to comply with attendance policy.
  • Must possess computer skills and have aptitude for working with computers.
  • Must be able to work safely around food allergens.
  • Have a good attendance record and be able to comply with attendance policy.
